upcycled luggage tag keychain

Got home from work today and checked Craftcult and found out I was the front page this morning!! Can't believe it! I've only been on Etsy for a few months so I feel very special. It was a front page chosed by Etsy admin too, so even more cool that they have stumbled across my little shop. This was the item featured. Its a luggage tag keychain made out of upcycled materials from a local factory. It sold very shortly afterwards too. So cool!! Made my day.

Black and white modern graphic work always stands out, but this calender is just amazing. It is designed by a New York City based designer named Erin Carey and is made from woodcut illustrations. This would look great in any home or office! Love it.

I saw this gorgeous architecture featured on the Contemporist and can't stop staring at it. It was designed in Mexico by Arquitectura en Proceso as is the headquarters for a construction company. Absolutely stunning.

Copenhagen

I suppose its makes the most sense to use my first blog post to explain who I am and what I do. So, Hi! I'm Heidi, and I can't get enough of making stuff using recycled and upcycled materials. I collect post consumer waste and materials from local factories and businesses to use. I am a total packrat and collect anything I can get my hands on to make things out of. You can check out my Etsy shop or my Flickr to see a few of my creations.

I also love to travel (thats me in Copenhagen above) and visit new places. I lived in Europe for a year after graduating school, and live in Toronto now. I love to be inspired and look at beautiful things. I love modern design, packaging design, digital art, and cool things I stumble across that catch my eye. This blog will be a collection things that inspire me. Hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!
